Intermediate Claims Advocate

Full Time | Burnaby Office
We are currently looking for an Intermediate Claims Advocate to join our Burnaby office. In this role, you will collaborate directly with the Vice President, Claims, and the Producer(s)Account Manager(s) to deliver seamless client experience and ensure the claims process aligns with coverage expectations. This position requires demonstrated thirst for learning, positive attitude, strong critical thinking skills, and the ability to shift gear in a high paced environment. The portfolio of business focuses on but is not limited to various segments within the construction and contracting industry. Wilson M. WHAT YOU’LL DO 

With oversight and guidance of senior claims management
  • You will manage and monitor a portfolio of claims from start to resolution.
  • You will serve as the liaison between clients, adjusters, insurers, and service providers.
  • You will provide expert guidance to clients throughout the claims process.
  • You will ensure timely and accurate documentation of claims files.
  • You will produce claims loss runs for account managers and producers.
  • You will collaborate closely with Account Managers and Producers to deliver seamless client experience and ensure the claims process aligns with coverage expectations.
  • You will keep internal teams informed of claim developments that may impact renewals, pricing, or coverage changes.
  • You will be a subject matter expert on company wordings, endorsements, and policy enhancements to help interpret coverage and provide accurate advice to clients and team members.
  • You will become knowledgeable of the legal and legislative environment in which our clients operate.
  • You will identify potential claims trends or issues and communicate them internally.
  • You will learn and understand the role of an Account Manager, to have a deeper understanding of brokerage processes, policies and coverages, and customer interactions, to be able to best support Account Managers and Account Executives in their roles.
  • You must have an ethos of constant learning and to be self-motivated in learning policy coverages and wordings from various insurers and in various lines of business as well as assimilating the legal material that impacts the interpretation and administration of insurance policy contracts.
  WHO YOU ARE:
  • You must have a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in client service / facing role, in a brokerage or insurance company environment.
  • You must have excellent communication, collaboration, and critical thinking skills.
  • You must have a proven ability to manage multiple files and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • You must have a Level 2 General Insurance License
  • You must have EPIC or similar brokerage management system experience as an asset.
COMPENSATION
  • The expected salary range for this position is $80,000 to $100,000 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate's skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position's business line, scope, and level.

The expected annual salary range for this position is $80,000 to $100,000. We encourage applications from all qualified candidates.
