We are currently looking for a full‑time, in‑office Senior Claims Handler to join our WBI Home Warranty team in our Surrey office. In this senior role, you will be responsible for managing complex and high‑risk home warranty claims, providing technical guidance, and supporting effective claims resolution in accordance with applicable legislation, policy provisions, and company guidelines. You will serve as an experienced liaison between homeowners, builders, and internal stakeholders, while contributing to strong risk management and service excellence.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Investigate, assess, and manage complex home warranty claims to confirm coverage and identify construction defects, liabilities, and risk exposure.
- Act as a senior point of contact for escalated claims involving homeowners, strata representatives, builders, and developers.
- Interpret and apply applicable legislation, including the BC Homeowner Protection Act, Residential Construction Performance Guide, and other provincial equivalents.
- Review and analyze engineering reports, technical assessments, and expert opinions related to claim files.
- Coordinate with third‑party contractors and consultants to scope, estimate, and manage repair work.
- Prepare clear, well‑reasoned correspondence and claim determinations that align with policy provisions and withstand scrutiny.
- Provide technical support, guidance, and mentorship to Claims Handlers and Claims Administrators as required.
- Engage external professionals as needed to support coverage determinations and resolution strategies.
- Assist with subrogation, indemnity recovery, and cost‑sharing activities with insurers.
- Maintain organized, accurate, and timely claim records in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
- Maintain open communication with underwriting, inspections, and other departments to support strong risk management practices.
- Participate in work‑related functions and industry events as needed.
- Maintain required insurance licensing in accordance with regulatory standards.
Education, Knowledge & Experience
- Level 2 insurance license preferred.
- Experience handling home warranty or property claims.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong skills in Word and Excel
- Knowledge of a second language such as Punjabi, Hindi, Mandarin, or Cantonese is an asset.
- Obtain a Level 2 License within six months.

- Compensation for this position is expected to start at $80,000 - S100,000, with final salary determined based on the candidate’s skills, experience, location, and the role’s scope and level.
